About the author of Footprints
Many different people have claimed to be the author of the Footprints poem. Two of them, who seem to be the most frequently named candidates, are Margaret Fishback Powers and Mary Stevenson.
Margaret Fishback Powers has written a book called "The True Story Behind the Poem that Inspired Millions", in which she tells her story of the poem's creation in 1964, its loss and rediscovery. For more information on this book, go to http://www.harpercollins.com and look it up.
(I can find no other information without buying the book).
Others claim that Mary Stevenson was the original author - supposedly she wrote the poem in 1936, when she was 14 years old. For further information on this, go to http://www.wowzone.com/fpnews.htm or http://www.footprints-inthe-sand.com
Since I don't know who is correct, I will keep the "Author unknown" text on my Footprints page.
(I personally believe that Mary Stevenson is the author)
