Soul of Saint
Nick

Stand still and just listen, do you
hear what I hear?
The sound of the sleigh bells are coming so near,
Can you hear them all ring in the darkness of
night?
Do you see silhouettes in the sky, deep in
flight?
As I look to the heavens and see the night part,
I can feel the emotion pour into my heart,
Here standing before me, a vision so clear,
'Ho Ho, Merry Christmas,' is what I do hear.
A jolly old man with his reindeers in tow,
In magnificent style, he puts on a show,
All the kids in the houses wake up to the noise,
And run to the windows to see all the toys.

'Wooh Dancer, Wooh Prancer,' he calls
to the deer,
'Good tidings to all,' he sings with great cheer,
He steps off the sleigh with a certain delight,
And strolls 'cross the rooftops all covered with
white.
The children all giggle, their excitement does
grow,
But their parents all say, 'Back to bed you must
go,'
Unwilling to sleep, they huddle in bed,
Still excited and happy, they lay down their
heads.
And down near the fireplace, Saint Nick starts his
task,
Of filling the stockings with cheer that will
last,
Always with humour and grace he does move,
With presence he brings, there are hearts he does
sooth.

At the base of the trees all glowing
with light,
He lays down the gifts, a magnificent sight,
When he finally reaches the house that is last,
It's almost again time for darkness to pass.
Still jolly but tired climbing back in his
sleigh,
'Merry Christmas,' he says, 'Have a wonderful
day,'
Again I look to the heavens above,
And watch him take off with the grace of a dove.
The sleighbells still ring, but the vision does
fade,
More than gifts, left behind, is the love he has
made,
In awe of his spirit, I look to the sky,
The stars all reflect from the spark in my eye.
Did you hear what I heard?
Did you see what I saw?
To me it was magic, I stood there in awe,
Some wanted to see, but you had to be quick,
For what passed here before, was the soul of Saint
Nick.
